Nonetheless, offenders entering a correctional institution, prisoners surrender most of their rights of privacy. In addition, inmates do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy in their prison cells and are not protected from so called shakedowns, or searches of their cells to look up for weapons, drugs, and other contraband.
